Welcome to the d4 blog!
It feels appropriate that this first post should explain what the d4 blog is for. We want to use this blog as a way to interact with the world, but particularly with health care professionals (HCPs) in the United Kingdom.
Why? It all comes down to our mission statement. As a non-profit organisation with registered charitable status, devices4 aims
“To improve patient care by placing modern technology in the hands of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals.”
We want to be a user led organisation, therefore it is of vital importance that we enter a dialogue with both HCPs and the wider public.
Starting from scratch with no registered followers, the stated purpose of this blog appears grandiose, but it truthfully reflects our ambition. We hope this blog can serve as an effective mechanism to share the thinking behind d4 and to gather useful feedback to shape both the philosophy and development of the charity, whether in the form of support or criticism.
So if you’re reading this, please contribute! This could be by commenting directly on a post here on the blog (we reserve the right to edit if inappropriate), or by spreading our posts to a wider circle of people using social media to further the debate (you can find tools to help you below each post).
Happy reading and we look forward to hearing from you.
